The team and I are delighted to bring yet another massive upgrade to you guys.
Starting this week, you can connect multiple App Store & Google Play accounts to Looker Studio and BigQuery!
Who's this update for:
If you got multiple accounts to import data from, we can help.
INTRODUCING DATA SOURCES
You'll notice we chose to label each API connection a “Data Source”. Each data source connects to a different service (App Store, Google Play, Meta Ads, etc) that you can then use to feed your dashboards.
Your base subscription comes with 2 developer accounts slots.
Now, you can add packages of 6 developer accounts of $39/mo.
To see how much it'd cost for you to add more developer accounts, go to your Profile & Billing > Manage Subscription > Update Plan to upgrade:
Once you upgrade, your Data Sources counter on the bottom left will change. That's how you know how many slots you still have and how many are left.
Adding a data source works exactly the same like it used to before. The only difference is that now you can have multiple accounts connected:
You'll also notice that we now have a name for each data source as a way to distinguish them. For the App Store, we bring your Developer Account name automatically. For Google Play, you can choose which name you'd like to give to your account.
When creating a data source on Looker Studio you now have the option to choose which developer account you'd like to use.
Just don't forget to rename your data sources so you know what's what :)
On BigQuery
Each data source will be stored as a dataset within your Project:
The difference now is that you'll own multiple datasets. Just like on Looker Studio, the key tip here is to always label your data sources correctly so you know what's what.
For now, Magic Templates connects with the first App Store and Google Play sources you have on your account. We're working on an update to make it compatible with multiple sources in the coming days. You'll be able to pick which developer account you'd like to use your template.
We're looking forward to seeing how you'll use this to unify your data that are now scattered around. As always, reach out if you have suggestions on how to make this feature even more powerful to you.
